Jim Simmons, CFA

ICM founder Jim Simmons, Chartered Financial Analyst, has over three decades of experience in financial services, and investment and trust management. As the firm's Chief Investment Officer, he also leads portfolio strategy for all small and small- to mid-cap value portfolios. Before founding ICM in 1981, Jim served as the head of Old National Bank's trust investment department, and prior to that was a portfolio manager with the bank now known as Comerica. Jim earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Michigan State University, and is a member of CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Spokane.

Greg Eisen, CFA
Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager


ICM Portfolio Manager Greg Eisen, CFA, brings an impressive 27 years of experience in the financial services arena to the team at ICM. Prior to joining ICM, Greg was a small-cap value portfolio manager at Safeco Asset Management. In addition to portfolio management, his significant experience also includes equity analysis, credit analysis, and accounting. Greg earned his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Rutgers University, is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and a member of CFA Institute.

Kyle T. Knigge, CFA
Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Senior Research Analyst


Kyle Knigge, CFA, is a member of ICM's Small-Cap and Small-to Mid-Cap Value portfolio management team, and also serves as a Senior Research Analyst. Since joining ICM in 1998, Kyle's responsibilities now include active participation in portfolio construction and in-depth fundamental company analysis. He is a former president and a current board member of the CFA Society of Spokane, and is a member of CFA Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management, and an M.B.A. with concentrations in Investment Management and Finance from Washington State University.

Bryn Harman, CFA
Vice President and Director of Research

Bryn Harman, CFA, has focused on the analysis and due diligence of small and small- to mid-cap companies and equity transactions since 1995. Before joining ICM in 2002, Bryn held several progressive analytical positions in the fields of equity research and corporate finance. As ICM’s Director of Research, Bryn performs bottom-up fundamental research, financial analysis, and company valuations for a variety of sectors, in addition to overseeing all company research activity within the firm. Bryn earned his Bachelor of Commerce in finance from the University of Saskatchewan in 1992, and his Chartered Financial Analyst designation from CFA Institute in 1997.

Michael R. Brown
Senior Research Analyst


Mike Brown brings more than 16 years of telecommunications and technology industry experience, and five years of equity research experience to ICM. Mike has worked as a senior analyst covering telecommunications equipment and software at RBC Capital Markets. Prior to RBC, he worked as an independent telecommunications consultant to enterprises, OEMs, and telecom service providers. Mike holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, a master's degree in mathematical ecology from the University of California at Davis, and an M.B.A. degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Spencer T. Shelman
Research Associate


As a Research Associate for ICM’s Investment team, Spencer Shelman analyzes, performs due diligence, and recommends portfolio investments of small and small- to mid-cap value companies. He also monitors all relevant company and industry developments on existing companies held within the portfolios. Spencer is currently a Level II candidate in CFA Institute’s charter holder program. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in finance and economics from Washington State University.

Todd M. Cruse
Research Analyst and Senior Portfolio Liaison

Todd Cruse brings over a decade of financial and research experience to ICM’s Investment team. As a Research Analyst, Todd concentrates on individual company analysis and special research projects, primarily focusing on consumer sectors. He interacts regularly with the Portfolio Management and Research teams in order to assist the Marketing and Client Services teams with communicating the firm’s strategy, portfolio valuations and characteristics, and performance to clients in his role as a Senior Portfolio Liaison. Todd earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Gonzaga University, and is a member of both CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Spokane.

 

Timothy Olsen
Senior Vice President and Head Trader

Tim Olsen brings over two decades of buy and sell-side securities industry experience to ICM. Prior to joining ICM in 1998, Tim worked as an account executive at Jefferies & Company for nearly 10 years. Tim has served as ICM’s head equity trader since 2000, and also sits on the firm’s senior management committee, which plans and executes the firm’s strategic and tactical decisions. He is a member of the Pacific Northwest Security Traders Association.

 

Richard Mattox
Vice President and Equity Trader

Richard Mattox has been with ICM since 2000 and is a veteran equity trader with over 20 years experience in financial services. His extensive career includes serving as head trader for an institutional money manager, NM Capital Management in Albuquerque, as well as providing institutional and retail sales for various national and regional firms. Richard is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
